My Mama

She is beautiful
Beyond words
Her heart
Like a wide open ocean
Farther than the eyes can see
Her eyes
Overflowing with kindness
Stronger than a cup of tea
Her ears
Sharpened to hear the signs
Of a drifting soul
Ever hearing
Always listening
Her Lips
In constant willowy whisper
With a prayer on bended knee

There's a place

There's a place
In the corner of my heart
That beats
To rhythm that's set apart.

There's a space
In the depths of my mind
That chooses
To forget things unkind.

There's a day
That will come
Regardless
Of how it is today,
Where the place and space
Must choose to sing as one
To show that things
Are worth the wait.

Where do you start?

Where do you start?
When you don't know how
When you don't know where
Everything you need is in the why.
The Why is why you need to care.

Trembling lips
Shaky knees
Voices that echo unkindess
And let it under your skin.
Hands and Faces
Driving a stake through the emotion within.

Fear runs amok
Turns warm blood
Into icy blue
But it will always be
Hope, Desire and Drive
That reigns in a Few.
